Any breakfast served before 7:00 a.m. is continental, usually consisting of fruit, muffins, etc.
A typical breakfast (
served after 7 a.m.
) begins with a fruit dish, coffee, and juice.  This is followed by a meat dish (bacon, sausage or ham), eggs, and waffles, etc.  The menu varies, depending on what is available, as well as what the cook feels like making!  The waffles are always home-made, as well as jellies and jams and many of the things Amanda makes.  The eggs usually consist of scrambled eggs and cheese, omelets, or some type of casserole.  Other examples include chocolate crepes, stuffed French toast, a variety of casseroles, etc.   Fresh fruit is used when available.  You definitely will not be hungry following breakfast

There is a restaurant/bar located across the highway, called Trail Side Bar and Grill.  They serve delicious home style food, and have daily specials, as well as an all-you-can-eat buffet on Saturdays.  They also serve delicious home-made pies.  This is ideal for bicyclists who do not want to hassle with getting across the bridge in Hermann. One thing that you need to keep in mind is that they close at 2:00 p.m. on Sundays and are closed all day on Mondays.
